..F.A.Q.s

Q. When you use a textured rolling pin, I was told that you have to roll the fondant first to get the design onto the fondant before placing the fondant on the cake. If so, how do you use a smoother to get the fondant smoothed and secured to the cake.Wouldn't it smooth out the design? I really love these rolling pins and would like to try to use them.
A. When using a textured rolling pin: first roll out the fondant with your smooth rolling pin, almost to the desired thickness. Then roll your impression roller across it, once. Place the fondant on your cake and use a piece of foam, thin foam, to pat the fondant onto the cake. Your cake will be attached and the texture will remain intact. This method is also good for attaching fondant pieces, like lace, to the cake. HTH
Q. Should this foam be dry or damp?
A. Definitely dry
